I modified Magiva&#x2019;s Votex Tube from <a href="https://grabcad.com/library/vortex-tube-106-2h-1" rel="external">https://grabcad.com/library/vortex-tube-106-2h-1</a> for 3D printing. I have not used this, it was made for a coworker who claims it works; however, it is on a small scale.

The tube, white, end should get hot. I made it out of polycarbonate to help handle the heat. For the main body, the gray part, I made from PLA. You will need a fitting for the compressed air hose. Increase the infill to help handle the air pressure. 80psi seemed to be the pressure at which my coworker made it work. 

Use a &#xBC; NPT male fitting, heat it, and melt it into the main body. Make sure you have an air tight seal and that the fitting will not pop off. (protect yourself from burns) 
Gel type super glue was used to join the tube and main body.

Caution: This will be subject to relatively high pressures. Take precautions to insure your own safety from explosions.

The rubber band on the end keeps the wire in tension while heated up. The wire is looped around the screws as shown in the picture. Not shown in the picture are the power leads alligator clipped to the 6-32 screws at both ends of the wire.On my power supply with 40 gauge nichrome wire, &#xA0;I was pushing 8 to 9VDC, at about 300mA to cut closed cell Polyethylene foam.&#xA0;&#xA0;But power requirements will depend on what you&apos;re cutting and the wire you use.Sketchup files are included so feel free to modify as you see fit.The arm is a relatively long piece measuring 243mm from the ends of the mouse-ears I put in the model. You may have to break it up to print.It&apos;s all printable without support, with just a little bridge required on the vertical stand piece.

Does not require any modification to your UM3, print two of these and attach them to a 32.4x29.0 mm 4mm thick transparent material (acrylic, pc, or any other to your liking). The size I used ensures the front cover is nicely closed and the controlpanel remains well accessible.

Print material is not highly critical and depends on the temperatures you build up in your machine. I have used Polymaker PC-MAX for mine.

I have chosen the keep it stupidly SIMPLE to allow for adding a top-cover.

Make sure to mount the hooks 20mm from the left and right edge of the plate (when using mentioned width) to ensure that the M3 bolts pointing inwards gets required clearance.

Additional hardware that I used: 
2 ea M3x20 with hex head (M3x10 will work, I had the 20&apos;s available and work just as fine) 
4 ea M3 washers 
2 ea self-locking M3 nut

When you find that the plate used is not complete flat, may I suggest adding magnets to the bottom edges to ensure the front is nicely closed.
