<div><p>So I needed to mount a pair of ATV LED Flashers (orange/white) to my snowblower (long story) and in doing so realized that I needed some sort of mount for the lights. The frame of the Toro snowblower is 1&quot; (25mm) steel tubing, and while I could have drilled the tubing I figured that would be a site for corrosion, so a surface mount was a better idea. I decided a heavy-duty wire tie would be more than sufficient to hold these blinkers (they barely weight anything). I ended up using M4 short stubby hex-head bolts (because I had them) so the holes are M4 tap size (you need to tap them). I printed these in PLA, since they don&apos;t need to take any stress (I mean seriously it&apos;s a LED light, not the landing gear for a 747). Anyway I included the STEP file in case you want to make your own variant (like your tubing is slightly larger than 1&quot;, or whatever)</p>

<h3 class="thing-component-header tips post-printing">Post-Printing</h3>
<p class="detail-title"><strong>Tap with a M4 Tap</strong></p>
                <div><p>So I used a standard M4 tap, and because I am a rebel despite it being PLA I did not hand-tap but used my drill with the tap in it. Worked fine. The extra perimeters made it so the tap had good solid plastic to bite into. I printed the wire-tie side up.</p>
<p>I mounted them onto the LEDs first and then wire-tied into place. It is remarkably stiff and rigid. Not the M4 bolts need to be very short (I think I used 8mm long bolts) as they should not be proud of the mating surface onto the tube (or it won&apos;t sit flush)</p></div>

<li>Print holders, right holder has a small hole for wires. <strong>Both holders has enough place for wires, just don&apos;t slide channels all the way (see the picture).</strong> </li>
<li>Slide channels in holders. That&apos;s a tough one, I messed up so bad with measurements and it&apos;s really tight. </li>
<li>At this point I soldered lights together, you just need to cut as much as you can fit in channel and for my led strip it was 5 segments with 3 leds on each segment.</li>
<li>Run wires from lights through right holder&apos;s hole and then solder it with switch and buck converter. Actually I didn&apos;t solder them, I was too lazy to unscrew the psu from printer and I ran the wires behind, then soldered them. </li>
<li>I guess that&apos;s it, holders will snap in place on extrusion, and yeah, they&apos;re tight fit as well.</li>

Amazon Echo Dot Gen3 Led Ring Blind

<p>If you want to use a smaller light (e.g. 34mm LED Tealight), you can scale the snowman in your slicer to your needs. I&apos;d recommend to scale all axis the same amount (locked scaling). On 100% Sice it is about 15cm high, 10cm wide and 8cm deep. At the Base it needs 75mm space to stand on.</p>
<p>The most usable filament for this is probably transparent (uncolored) PLA or PETG. I printed it in 0.2mm resolution. I used a wallcount of only 1 to get thin walls - so that with the transparent PLA the light would get through really good - be aware though, that this makes the snowman somewhat delicate. It is sturdy enough for a visual ornament, but you can crush it easily with one hand if you grip it hard. It&apos;s more to look at than to play with.</p>
<p>More walls will make it more sturdy, but also more opaque.</p></div>

YAS! Yet another Snowman

Yet another hollow snowman to set on top of a LED pad. Mine features a complete support free print and 70mm space at the base for 65-70mm LED-PADs like these:

(you can probably get them cheaper at Ali Express, it is just one many possible lighting options).</p>

If you want to use a smaller light (e.g. 34mm LED Tealight), you can scale the snowman in your slicer to your needs. I'd recommend to scale all axis the same amount (locked scaling). On 100% Sice it is about 15cm high, 10cm wide and 8cm deep. At the Base it needs 75mm space to stand on.

The most usable filament for this is probably transparent (uncolored) PLA or PETG. I printed it in 0.2mm resolution. I used a wallcount of only 1 to get thin walls - so that with the transparent PLA the light would get through really good - be aware though, that this makes the snowman somewhat delicate. It is sturdy enough for a visual ornament, but you can crush it easily with one hand if you grip it hard. It's more to look at than to play with.

More walls will make it more sturdy, but also more opaque.
