<p>I designed this extended fender to look as close to oem and provide good splash protection.</p>
<p>I printed this in ABS, the base separately, fender body separately and the 2 lateral supports separately.<br>
The fender body I printed changed its shape a bit after removing it from the print bed making its radius smaller. This is ABS at work combined with a low infill percentage. I used a heat gun to gently bend it back to shape. Using a different material or different print settings can probably eliminate this problem.</p>
<p>The printing orientation is essential in obtaining a fender that has any chance of holding over time.<br>
The parts are glued together with ABS glue (50g acetone + 8g abs mixed together).</p>
<p>The side supports are printed straight (no bends) for the best durability. I then briefly used a heat gun to bend the top and bottom parts (the slimmer parts) to the desired angles and glued the top part underneath the fender. I have 160mm rotors and had to bend the thicker part just a bit to clear the rotors properly. This should not be an issue for the factory 140mm rotors.</p>
<p>I also included a bigged variant for those with 3&quot; tires. I have the stock 2.5&quot; tires, so I did not print that.</p>
<p>I used 20% infill as this was more like a prototype, but I will use it for as long as it holds and the probably print one with 50% infill or so.</p>
<p>If you use other materials (like PETG) an epoxy plastic glue of sorts should do the job in fixing the parts together. Reiforcing the bond underneath the part is also recommended.</p>

Kaabo Mantis Rear Extended Mudguard
